Three privacy policies, written in plain language
Fest'Pack, profAI and DecodeMind publish their privacy policies, in French and English, with a contact to write to and retention periods in figures.
Fest’Pack, profAI and DecodeMind each have their privacy policy, published in French and English. We wrote them to be read: no empty formulas, retention periods given in figures, and a named list of what each service sends, to whom, and to which country.
A policy is only worth what the program actually does. So we changed the code at the same time as the text. On Fest’Pack, detecting your departure city no longer happens on its own: it waits for you to click, as Quebec’s Law 25 requires for any location feature. On profAI, the age rule is now explicit — the service is for Secondary 3 and up, and in the Family plan the parent creates their teenagers’ accounts and confirms being the parent or guardian. DecodeMind had nothing to change: your code never left your browser; it simply had to be stated in writing.
Each policy says who to write to — the role of privacy officer, the organisation and its email address —, sets out your rights — access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, portability, complaint to the Commission d’accès à l’information — and the time within which we answer.
