profAI privacy

What profAI collects, what goes to AI providers outside Quebec, and the rule on student age.

profAI keeps accounts, sessions and messages on a server located in Quebec. It collects the bare minimum: an email address, a first name, a school level, and what gets written during lessons. Never a date of birth, a postal address or a card number — payment happens on the provider’s own page.

What leaves Quebec is stated plainly in the policy: to compose its answer, the teacher sends the student’s question, school level and lesson content to whichever AI provider is available, and some of them are abroad. The name, the email and the account identifier are not sent. The policy names every recipient and its country.

Student age: profAI is for Secondary 3 and up — 14 and over. No account is opened for a younger child. In the Family plan, the parent creates their teenagers’ accounts and confirms being the parent or guardian; without that confirmation, no account is created.

The official text is the one published on profai.ca. For any question about your personal information, or to request access to, correction of, or deletion of a student’s record: [email protected].
